Designing and developing barrie products

Since Jean Patou and Coco Chanel made cashmere knitwear fashionable in the 1920’s, Barrie has believed in the importance of having its own dedicated Design and Development teams, who travel the international markets to keep in touch with the market trends and influences that will finally shape seasonal Collection.  This ensures it collections remain contemporary, exciting and appealing in colour, shape and styling.

World renowned and prestigious French couture houses, luxury private label businesses, and coveted designer labels work closely with Barrie to develop knitwear to the customer’s garment specifications, look and feel.  This is achieved through Barrie’s highly skilled and experienced knitwear development team and very high handcrafted workmanship.   Working with these customers inevitably has a positive influence on the Barrie seasonal collections.

Although cashmere remains its benchmark of quality, Barrie are quick to develop and introduce new innovations in yarn technology, keeping pace with the vagaries of fashion.

An innovative approach to technology extends to fabric design where the progressive design studio and the development team is constantly pushing the boundaries of computer aided design and knitting technology to ensure that Barrie remains at the forefront of contemporary and classic knitwear.
